Urinary Incontinence is a treatable medical condition.

Urinary incontinence is a medical condition associated with involuntarily voiding of urine. This disorder is due to overactive bladder. The unwilling leakage of urine is very common, and several individuals due to embarrassment never get treatment and keep suffering from this problem. This condition overall has a detrimental effect on the daily routine of the person.

The urinary incontinence is not only a specific medical disorder instead it is associated with several other conditions like emotional distress, psychological and social issues. The prevalence of urinary incontinence is
high among elderly individuals, and their wrong perception is that it is part of the old life. However, this problem can be treated easily through natural means with pumpkin seed oil.

According to webmd.com, approximately 13 million American suffer from urinary incontinence mainly women. Importantly, women suffering from the urinary incontinence have relatively lower self-esteem, depression and relatively less active sex life (https://www.webmd.com/urinary-incontinence-oab/ss/slideshow-incontinence-in-women).
Causes of Urinary Incontinence
There are two types of urinary incontinence, i.e., temporary and persistent one. Temporary urinary incontinence is due to intake of certain drinks like alcohol, tea, spicy items, foods containing a higher amount of vitamin C and certain medications have a diuretic effect. This temporary increase in the urine volume leads to urinary incontinence that is reversible with time.

The persistent urinary incontinence is a significant problem and is mainly associated with the following conditions:

Age – The aging is associated with decreased muscle strengths of the bladder and is considered as a major factor related to urinary incontinence.
Neurological ailments – Several neurological illnesses like Multiple sclerosis, spinal injuries and brain tumor alter the function of nerve controlling voiding of urine.
Prostate and Urinary Cancer -The prostate and any other type of tumor within the urinary system affect the normal physiological functioning of the bladder. Mainly cancer affect the muscles of urinary sphincter thus leading to incontinence issues.
Pregnancy and Childbirth – The urinary incontinence has been observed during pregnancy that continues after childbirth in some instances if not appropriately managed it lingers on.
Menopause – Women in the menopausal age are more susceptible to urinary incontinence due to hormonal changes. Scientific studies have shown women menopausal women are the major victim of urinary incontinence [1, 2].
Several other risk factors associated causing urinary incontinence are being obese, stress, smoking and familial presence of this disorder.

Physiological Aspects of Urinary Incontinence

As far as the physiological mechanisms involved in controlling the voiding of urine is concerned, it has four major categories including:
  1. Overflow from obstruction
  2. Stress
  3. Urge
  4. Neurogenic
Among all the above conditions the weakness of the urethral sphincter is the major problem. This organ physiologically protects against involuntary loss of urine; however, weakness of the sphincter is mainly associated with urinary incontinence related to involuntary loss of urine.

Pumpkin Seed Oil – A Natural and Safer Remedy for Urinary Incontinence

Pumpkin seeds have been used for the treatment of bladder control among people suffering from urgency in urination and relatively higher frequency. This natural remedy is free of any side effects and considered as an ultimate bladder control among people suffering from urinary incontinence.

Historically, the usage of pumpkin seeds for controlling urinary difficulties was common among the native American tribes. The German health authorities approved pumpkin seeds usage for controlling the irritable bladder. In the year 1578, a European herbal encyclopedia reported pumpkin seeds as a treatment for urinary problems [3].

Based on all this empirical information the role of pumpkin seeds and its formulation in strengthening the urinary bladder has been described in various reports. Importantly, there is also the usage of pumpkin seed oil for natural health improvement among weaker individuals.

Therapeutic Components of the Pumpkin Seed Oil for Urinary Incontinence Indications

Formulation-wise, the pumpkin seed oil has several health-promoting ingredients. However, the component presumed to exert its benefits for relieving the symptoms of urinary incontinence is Sitosterol. The benefits of sitosterol have been proven through scientific studies in its effects in improving the urinary function[4].

A 100 gram of pumpkin seed oil is comprised of 150 mg sitosterol. Several other components beneficial for human health are a variety of vitamins including beta-carotene, vitamins D, E, and K. Alpha and gamma tocopherol beneficial for human health are also found in the pumpkin seed oil.
Clinical Studies in Human Proves the Benefits of Pumpkin Seed Oil for Urinary Incontinence

The empirical information about the benefits of pumpkin seeds oil in urinary incontinence has been proved through clinical studies also. A study evaluated the effects of pumpkin seed oil among 45 volunteers. Among these 25 were males and 20 females. These individuals received ten grams of pumpkin seed oil orally daily.

The Overactive Bladder Symptom Score (OABSS) was used to assess the benefits of pumpkin seed oils among the individuals receiving this oil. The frequency of urination both in the daytime, night, urgency and incontinence were evaluated. The findings of this study were phenomenal. It was observed that pumpkin seed oil improved the urinary incontinence problems among the individuals taking pumpkin seeds oil [5].

This study besides several others has provided a proof of concept about the benefits of pumpkin seeds oil for controlling lower urinary tract issues like involuntarily voiding of urine.

Pumpkin Seeds Oil is a Safer Treatment for Urinary Incontinence

A major problem associated with several treatments is their side effects. Amazingly, the pumpkin seed oil has proved its safety and optimal efficacy for the indications of urinary incontinence and other bladder disorders. The above-mentioned Japanese studies and several others in the past suggest that pumpkin seed oil is safe and well tolerated by the human body.
Cayenne to the Rescue

One of the things I have found to be very successful and fast acting for bladder disorders is cayenne.  At first I thought I must eliminate this as spicy foods are a problem but research shows that cayenne is one of the herbal remedies that is seen successful.  Vitamin D3 is also recommended.
So I tried it and within just an hour or so saw an immediate change.  I no longer had to run to the bathroom.  I took 2 capsules before sleep.  I do believe Dr. Christopher's has the best cayenne product.
Foods to Avoid

If you have an overactive bladder, leakage or incontinence make sure you are on a healthy diet.  There are certain foods you must avoid.  Make sure to get enough water and fluids.  While some recommend reducing water intake in half, studies show that drinking 8 glasses a day of water helped to remove the toxins out of the bladder and avoid cancer and other problems.
  • All sweetened soft drinks
  • Sugars of all types
  • Honey
  • Citrus fruits especially oranges, grapefruits and tomatoes and tomato products such as katsup and tomato sauces.
  • Chocolate
  • Alcoholic drinks
  • Spicy Foods
  • Raw Onions
  • Artificial colors and preservatives
  • Sparkling water
  • Sugar Substitutes or sweeteners

The elimination of the foods listed above can be done gradually but total elimination is best until you get your condition reversed.  By eliminating these foods and adding in Syrian Pumpkin Seed Oil, Cayenne and Vitamin D3 you will be on the road to recovery.
Recommended Dosage of Pumpkin Seed Oil

As shown by the clinical studies, the pumpkin seed oil is quite safer. Even the oral intake of 10 grams of the pumpkin seed oil intake daily was quite safe among the healthy volunteers. So, if you are suffering from the issues of urinary incontinence, get an idea and most reliable treatment the pumpkin seed oil that has proved its safety and efficacy through a variety of clinical studies.
